The 2nd International Festival of Documentary Film Khouribga: Mission accomplished

The 2nd International Festival of Documentary Film in Khouribga rose 21, 22 and 23 October 2010 in an atmosphere of fun and fellowship, but with great professionalism, schedules were met, films in competition were seen without exception without technical problems or defects.
The filmmakers have discussed and defended their film.
The AFIFDOK had this year as guest of honor: Syria, with an opening film “Witness” by Raymond Botros which pleased the audience.
Tributes were sent to two people: this is the first Moroccan director Mohamed Belhaj to Aljezera documentary is a person professionally directed towards the documentary. He is very comfortable behind the camera and not before it.
Mohamed Belhaj attended the birth of the International Documentary Film Festival in Khouribga and helped to see it grow by his valuable advice.
The other person: Raymond Botros representing Syria and organization of Syrian cinema.
The films in competition were amazed assistance and juries, twelve films have participated:

“The open discussion” with the Moroccan director Mohamed Belhaj on the experience of Aljezera documentary, was a success and has left good impressions on the people who asked questions or provide input to enrich the discussion in a wonderful place around a Moroccan meal par excellence.
The contribution of the great poet Abu Adnan Ismail Zouirik poems by facts on the occasion of this edition for AFIFDOK and Khouribga, raise strangely pleasant feelings and great human warmth.
Hajar Ben Nasr director has projected his film “Abou Kacem Chebbi” to students and teachers of the college Cadi Ayad, AFIFDOK partner. This film has generated much discussion and comments.
The jury of Mohammed Belhaj (documentary filmmaker to Aljezera documentary), Catherine Poitevin (member of the FID, International Documentary Festival of Marseille), Said Ezzeddine (director and production manager Egyptian) both members Raymond Botros (Syrian director) and Tayara Lama (critical Syrian) were absent for health reasons and professional,
and the jury critique of documentary film composed of Abdeslam El Moussaoui (Moroccan poet and writer, artistic director of the National Educational Film Festival of Fes), Mahjoub Benmoussa (Director of the Moroccan film festival in Rotterdam, writer, actor and director) and Fouad Zouairek (critical and responsible Alfawanis-cinema),
1 – Grand Prize is awarded to “Abou Kacem Chebbi” Hajar Ben Nasr (Tunisia)
2 – The Achievement Award is awarded to “Hayda Lubnan” Eliane Raheb (LEBANON)
3 – The jury prize was awarded to ” Parcours de Refugiés ” Ali Benjelloun (MOROCCO)
4 – the jury award is given to critical “Abou Kacem Chebbi” Hajar Ben Nasr (Tunisia). This award was named for this year, prize of Noureddine Kachti.
The second edition is a departure for the third. Little grows with energy, dedication and determination of active members of the AFIFDOK. Work continues in partnership with Friends of AFIFDOK.
It is expected that:
1 – the 3rd edition will be for 26, 27, 28 and 29 October 2011.
2 – as the guest of honor will be Italy
3 – AFIFDOK received among the films competing applicants for 2010, several Moroccan films are home movies of professionalism or missing, and to enjoy the experience of these directors of AFIFDOK with the help of immanent documentary professionals there will be the first session of the national festival of documentary film Khouribga Morocco in March 2011.
The purpose of AFIFDOK is noble, that perpetuate the image culture in general and documentary in particular. But and a big But the International Documentary Film Festival needs, like other festivals, material resources in order to evolve a success, certainly acquired in the future. This call is for all intellectuals, and local and national authorities for the success of this festival in its international version.
